Bensenville, Ill. (April 27, 2026) — Michael Fastert and Dusty Drenth paced the 62-team field at the 2026 Illinois State Two-Person 36-Hole Scramble Tournament April 25–26 at White Pines Golf Club, one of the season’s premier season-opening events.
The two-day championship featured 36 holes of competition across the facility’s East and West Courses, delivering a first-class tournament experience complete with prizes, perks and springtime conditions. Teams competed in Regular and Senior (55+) divisions in a two-person scramble format, where both players hit each shot, selected the best ball and continued play from that position until the hole was completed.

In the Regular Division, Fastert and Drenth surged to the title with a two-round total of 25-under-par, splitting $2,000 in White Pines Pro Shop gift cards. The duo opened with a 10-under performance and followed with a blistering 15-under second round to secure a commanding victory. Chadd Slutzky and John Ramsey finished second at 18-under, while Graham O’Connor-Brooks and Andrew Price placed third at 17-under. The team of Justin Schwab and Nick Feinberg also finished at 17-under but placed fourth after a scorecard tiebreaker, using a hole-by-hole playoff from No. 18 backward to determine final standings.
In the Senior Division, JF LaFountaine and John Penn captured the title at 12-under-par with rounds of 4-under and 8-under. Tim Scott and Michael Munro finished second at 10-under, followed by Jay Marusich and Tom Arduino in third at 8-under.
“We’re proud to host such a competitive and well-played championship,” said Andrew Godfrey, PGA, general manager of White Pines Golf Club. “Congratulations to all of our winners and participants for an outstanding weekend of golf. The level of play across both divisions was exceptional, and it’s always exciting to see teams come together and perform at such a high level in this format.”
The Illinois State Two-Person Scramble once again showcased top amateur talent from across the region, highlighting both camaraderie and competition in a fast-paced, team-oriented format.
