Bensenville, Ill. (May 7, 2026) — Veterans living within Bensenville Park District boundaries are invited to take part in a free, one-hour golf lesson at White Pines Golf Club, providing a welcoming opportunity to learn the game or refine existing skills.
Led by a White Pines Golf instructor, the lessons are designed specifically with veterans in mind and will be conducted in a supportive group setting. Participants of all experience levels are encouraged to attend, whether they are picking up a club for the first time or looking to improve their swing, short game or overall confidence on the course.
“We’re honored to offer veterans an opportunity to experience the game of golf in a supportive and enjoyable setting,” said Andrew Godfrey, PGA General Manager. “Whether they’re new to the sport or looking to sharpen their skills, these lessons are a great way to build confidence and connect with others.”
Two hour-long sessions are available: 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, and 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11. The program is open to veterans ages 18 and older and is free of charge for eligible veterans. Advance registration is required. To reserve a spot, call the White Pines Golf Club Pro Shop at 630-766-0304 or visit in person at 500 W. Jefferson in Bensenville. The free golf lessons are the newest way the Bensenville Park District honors and supports those who have served in the military through recreational and recognition opportunities. A free veterans’ golf outing will be held at White Pines Monday, June 29, and veterans swim free at the Bensenville Water Park July 4. Veterans are also invited to take part in the free Fitness Dayz Boot Camp and Veteran’s Brunch August 15 at Varble Park and the adjacent Kiwanis Shelter.
