White Pines to host Nov. 21 “Golf Sticks and Drumsticks” big cup scramble

BENSENVILLE, Ill. (Oct. 19, 2026) — Golf, turkeys and giving back to the community are on the menu for the fourth annual “Golf Sticks and Drumsticks” big cup scramble Saturday, Nov. 21, at White Pines Golf Club, 500 W. Jefferson St. The four-person scramble begins with a 10 a.m. shotgun start, and organizers hope to welcome 200 golfers across the club’s two courses.

Golfers of all skill levels are invited to gather a four-person team for a fun day on the links, with a Thanksgiving bonus: Every participant will take home a frozen turkey, just in time for the holiday feast. Those who don’t need a turkey can donate it to the Bensenville-Wood Dale Food Pantry. Participants also are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to support local families facing food insecurity.

Since 1966, the Bensenville-Wood Dale Food Pantry has served as a lifeline for families throughout the community. The pantry provides food to more than 200 families each week across DuPage County, including many in Bensenville.

“Last year, we had nearly a full field, and we hope to get 200 golfers this year — 100 on each course,” said White Pines PGA Golf Professional Bill Roper. “It’s a great opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition, take home a turkey for Thanksgiving and help support families in the community.”

The festivities include two drink tickets per golfer, valid for domestic or nonalcoholic beverages. Teams also can opt into a $20 skins game for an additional dose of friendly competition. Prizes will be awarded to top-finishing teams and winners of on-course games, featuring golf-related merchandise from the White Pines Pro Shop.

For golfers looking to kick off the holiday season with a little friendly rivalry and a lot of heart, “Golf Sticks and Drumsticks” offers the perfect combination of golf and giving back. Sign up today. The entry fee is $420 per four-person team, or $105 per golfer. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. To register, visit the White Pines Pro Shop or call 630-766-0304. Participants must provide the names of all team members and payment by Monday, Nov. 16.
