Projecto 7, DJ Joe “Cool” Rodriguez bring Latin rhythms to Live at White Pines

Bensenville, Ill. (August 11, 2026) — The Bensenville Park District invites the community to celebrate with an evening of live Latin music, dancing, food and beverages during the free Live at White Pines Salsa Night from 6-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Pavilion at White Pines, 500 W. Jefferson St. in Bensenville.

The all-ages event will feature a live performance by Chicago-area salsa and Latin jazz favorite Projecto 7, along with music from DJ Joe “Cool” Rodriguez. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

“Live at White Pines Salsa Night is all about bringing people together for a night of great music, dancing and fun,” said White Pines PGA General Manager Andrew Godfrey. “With Projecto 7 bringing its signature Latin sound and DJ Joe ‘Cool’ Rodriguez keeping the energy going with a mix of dance favorites, this will be a night our guests won’t want to miss.”

Known throughout the Chicagoland area for its high-energy performances, Projecto 7 blends classic salsa with Latin jazz and contemporary Latin rhythms. The band’s versatile repertoire celebrates the music of legendary artists including Tito Puente, Héctor Lavoe, Willie Colón and other icons of the salsa movement while adding its own vibrant style that keeps audiences on the dance floor.

DJ Joe “Cool” Rodriguez, a prominent Chicagoland DJ, will add another layer of musical energy to the evening. Known for his work across house music, freestyle, old-school R&B, Latin rhythms and soul, Rodriguez frequently performs at local venues, special club events and regional celebrations. He has been featured in multi-DJ throwback events and high-profile holiday parties and regularly shares the stage with veteran regional artists, live bands and classic names from Chicago’s dance music scene.

Together, the performers will offer an eclectic night of music that celebrates Latin rhythms while incorporating the classic house, freestyle, R&B and soul sounds that have helped define Chicago’s rich musical culture.

Admission to Live at White Pines Salsa Night is free. The event takes place from 6-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in the Pavilion at White Pines. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
