Swing into fall fun with Family BucketGolf at White Pines

BENSENVILLE, Ill. (Sept. 15, 2026) — Families can trade traditional golf clubs for a whole new kind of game when Family BucketGolf tees off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at White Pines Golf Club, 500 W. Jefferson St. The free event combines the fun of golf with the playful spirit of a yard game, creating a family-friendly outdoor activity for all ages and skill levels.

BucketGolf puts a fresh spin on the game, with participants using one club per person to navigate a creative course where every hole is a par 3. Players can hit any part of the bucket to complete a hole, while those who chip the ball into the bucket earn a bonus stroke deduction. Watch out, though — hazards such as bushes and water can add penalty strokes to the scorecard.

“Family BucketGolf is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, have a few laughs and introduce people to a fun new way to play golf,” said Andrew Godfrey, PGA general manager of White Pines Golf Club. “Whether someone is an experienced golfer or has never picked up a club, everyone can get in the game and enjoy some friendly family competition.”

Clubs will be provided, and participants can enjoy the crisp autumn air while playing a game that puts a fun twist on traditional golf. The event is free and open to all ages.
