White Pines Golf Club to host mid-July special events

The White Pines Golf Club will host a special weekend of golf events in mid-July, with a Callaway Fit Day and a Family Golf Night Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17. The club’s lighted driving range is also open until 10 p.m. each Thursday through Tuesday.

The golf club will host a Callaway Fit Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the club’s driving range. According to the Callaway website, custom fitting can be one of the most important aspects to improve one’s golf game.

“Fitting day is it gives people of all skill levels the chance to try the newest and best equipment on the market,” explains White Pines PGA Manager Andrew Godfrey. “The event has been popular one here because golfers able to upgrade their set with customized equipment that will help improve their game.”

Then bring the whole family out for an evening of golf beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 17. The tees have been moved up for Family Golf Night, and players can play at their own pace while enjoying a $3 meal deal that includes a hot dog, chips and drink.

Godfrey says, “It’s a great opportunity for everyone in a family—no matter the skill level—to come out and enjoy the golf course without feeling rushed or pressured by the golfers behind them.”

Patrons of White Pines can also enjoy extended driving range hours to work on various aspects of their games, as the lights at the driving range were turned on for the season on July 1. The range is open until 10 p.m. each Thursday through Tuesday, closing at 5 p.m. Wednesdays.

“There has been significant demand for lessons and for range time in general,” Godfrey explains. “We are pleased to be able to accommodate more golfers with extended driving range hours.”

The White Pines Golf Club’s two 18-hole championship courses, situated on more than 260 acres, has been a favorite among Chicago area golfers since 1928. The public course owned and operated by the Bensenville Park District is an excellent choice for players of all skill levels.
