Bensenville, Ill. (April 19, 2026) — Golfers of all ages and skill levels are invited to sharpen their game this season by signing up for lessons at White Pines Golf Club, where a full lineup of instructional programs runs May through August. Leading the schedule is the new “Back to the Swing of Things” class for juniors, along with free golf lessons offered exclusively to local veterans.
Designed for ages 6-14, “Back to the Swing of Things” provides a fun, three-week spring tune-up that helps young golfers build confidence, consistency and core skills just in time for the season. The program runs from 5-6 p.m. Tuesdays, May 5-19, and costs $75.
In addition, veterans living within Bensenville Park District boundaries are invited to participate in a free, one-hour group golf lesson led by a White Pines instructor. Sessions will be offered May 27 and July 11, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for veterans to learn the game or refine their skills. Advance registration is required by calling the White Pines Pro Shop at 630-766-8034.
While online tutorials can introduce the basics, nothing replaces hands-on instruction. According to PGA of America, “a PGA professional is uniquely skilled at evaluating your game and can help you hit the ball longer and straighter, play better on and around the greens, improve your course management skills and make sure your equipment fits you properly.”
At White Pines, PGA Head Golf Professional Bill Roper and his assistant professionals offer a variety of lesson formats tailored to meet each golfer’s needs. From first-time players to experienced competitors, participants can expect expert guidance in a welcoming environment.
“Golf is a game that’s meant to be enjoyed at every level, and our goal is to help each player feel more confident every time they step onto the course,” Roper said. “Whether you’re picking up a club for the first time or working to fine-tune your swing, personalized instruction can make all the difference.”
The lesson lineup includes Adult Golf 101, an introductory course covering fundamentals such as swing basics and course etiquette, and Adult Golf 202, which focuses on improving technique, lowering scores and enhancing overall play. Juniors can get started with Beginning Junior Golf 101 or advance their skills in Junior Golf 202, while teens can prepare for competitive play in the High School Golf 303, an eight-week program designed to get players ready for team tryouts.
Programs are offered on multiple dates throughout the summer, with flexible options for adults and youth. Fees range from $75 to $250 depending on the class.
