BENSENVILLE, Ill. (March 15, 2026) — Golfers looking for a fun, flexible and social way to get on the course this spring are invited to register for the new White Pines Spark Golf League, held Wednesdays at 5 p.m. beginning April 15 at White Pines Golf Club.
Organized through Spark Golf, the league features a relaxed, 9-hole format designed for players of all skill levels. Participants can join as individuals or with a partner, with no long-term commitment required—simply pay for the rounds you choose to play. Weekly greens fees are $31, with an additional $11 cart fee.
“Spark Golf is a great way to bring people together on the course in a relaxed and welcoming environment,” said Andrew Godfrey. “Whether you’re new to the game or a regular player, this league offers the perfect mix of fun, flexibility and connection with other golfers in the community.”
League play emphasizes enjoyment and pace of play, with simplified rules that keep the game moving. No handicap is required to join, as Spark Golf provides and adjusts handicaps automatically based on player scores to help level the playing field. Players are encouraged to “pick it up” once they reach a maximum score on a hole, while putts within three feet are considered good and should be counted as a stroke.
Additional rules help eliminate common frustrations. Golfers may improve their lie in the fairway to avoid divots, and if a ball is lost or hit out of bounds, players can simply drop a new ball near the original spot with a one-stroke penalty rather than replaying the shot. The result is a faster, more enjoyable round that typically lasts about two hours.
The Wednesday evening league offers a casual, social atmosphere with both team and individual scoring, allowing players to earn points each week while meeting new people and enjoying friendly competition.
